Job Titles: - Junior Associates
 

Location: One per district in Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Imphal East, Imphal West, Senapati, Tamenglong, Ukhrul, and Kakching.
Contract: Contract will be for a duration five (5) months.
Compensation: Base salary with insurance allowance, mobile data package and Travel & Expenses (pre ap proved) will be covered. (Rs8000+TE+Telephone Allowance)

 

Description of role:
 

1. The Junior Associate must work closely with the Foundation to align on the study
needs and carry out field data collection as defined by the study
2. She/ He must be adept at using smartphone apps as data will be collected on a mobile app with GPS tags to ensure transparency and diligent data collection

Eligibility:

1. Undergraduate degree, knowledge in Agriculture or Horticulture preferred
2. She/ He should be willing to travel 50k m a day to engage with farmers, traders,
processors, consumers by local conveyance
3. The person must be self motivated and willing to work in a developing, unstructured, environment with a problem solving attitude
4. Good relationship and communication skills
5. This project demands fluency in the prevalent language(s) in the district with good Manipuri as lingua franca or English a must
6. Basic Computer skills is necessary to communicate and enter data

Field Nurse

Job Titles: - Field Nurse
 

Location: Kwasiphai-Potsangbam-Toubokpi 
Contract: One year

As part of our vision to combine last mile agriculture and health, MaolKeki Foundation is looking for a Field Nurse.

Description of role:

1. Conduct door-to-door health assessment of farmers and their families living in the targeted villages – reach at least 2,500 individuals
2. Carry out basic health checks such as blood pressure, eye test, Body Mass Index calculation, pulse checks and provide basic healthcare guidance
3. Identify individuals with serious health issues for further referral to the local district or city hospital
4. File daily, live, reports of all activities using a Smartphone application to enable transparent Monitoring & Evaluation
5. Provide regular updates to the MaolKeki Foundation project team
6. Engage with the local public health team, wherever possible
7. Be part of Farmer Demo and Field Days
8. It is also expected that, during this pilot, other responsibilities may be identified

Eligibility:

1. The qualified candidate must possess a Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institute or university.
2. The qualified candidate must be registered with State Nursing or Indian Nursing Council.
3. The qualified candidate must have experience of working in rural communities with remotely located patients.
4. She/ He should be willing to travel in and around the project areas, engage with smallholder farmers by local conveyance or two-wheeler.
5. The qualified candidate must have a valid two-wheeler license.
6. The person must be self-motivated and willing to work in a developing, unstructured, environment with a problem-solving attitude.
7. Strong relationship and communication skills.
8. This project demands fluency in Manipuri while knowledge of English or other local languages is a plus.
9. Basic Computer skills is a must.

Candidate will be provided a basic health assessment kit, scooter to facilitate movement and commensurate salary and allowances to cover health insurance and miscellaneous expenses.

Junior Agronomist required for Churachandpur District, Manipur

 

Role Profiles

Job Titles: - Junior Agronomist
 

Responsibilities:

 

The Junior Agronomist will be responsible for aggregating and training farmers to adopt Good Agricultural Practices. S/he will establish relationships with smallholder farmers producing horticultural crops in Churachandpur town and other areas in the district. Some of the key activities are:

 

  • S/he will take the lead in ensuring public and private agricultural extension services are accessible by smallholder horticulture farmers.

  • S/he will establish a network of Lead Farmers who will be responsible for developing demonstration farms that will be used to train other farmers.

  • S/he will act as a facilitator for farmers and other stakeholders in the field of agriculture such as researchers, inputs providers, financial institutions, etc., and any other related services for the farmers.

  • S/he will provide recommended solutions to the farmers using knowledge of latest crop production, land reclamation, soil, pest and weed management, etc.

  • S/he will travel and meet farmers on a regular basis to gather information on their crops throughout the growing cycle to help improve productivity.

  • S/he will encourage them to get soil testing done periodically to help monitor and maintain soil health.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or work experience in the field of agriculture

Training after selection: The selected individual will get on-the-job training under the guidance of our Agri Advisor in Khoijuman. A fully funded residential training session will be organized in Bishnupur District.

Associate

 

Locations: Four Associates located strategically across Manipur
Contract: Contract will be for the duration of the study, currently anticipated to be six months.
Compensation: Base salary with insurance allowance, mobile data package and Travel & Expenses (pre-approved) will be covered.
 

Description of role:

  1. The Associate will be the interface between the Study Coordinator and the Junior Associates
  2. The Associate will liaise with the Technical Advisor to provide technical support related to the crops under study
  3. The Associate will ensure that the Junior Associates are carrying out their assignments, gather daily reports, and formally update the team on a weekly basis
  4. She/ He has to coordinate with public and private stakeholders to identify key players to interview for the study
  5. She/ He will support the drafting of the questionnaires for the market surveys for the farmers, traders, processors, and consumers.
  6. She/ He will report their own market surveys via a mobile app as well report back on general observations and findings in a timely and regular manner, while ensuring the Junior Associates do the same
  7. She/ He will support the Agricultural Data Specialist in analysing the data collected and in writing reports to summarize the data, the findings and key insights with recommendations
  8. She/ He will work on finalising a business model to enhance and professionalize the specific crop value chain based on the findings from the market surveys

Eligibility:

  1. Graduate, with knowledge in Agriculture or Horticulture preferred
  2. She/ He should be willing to travel 50km - 100km a day on a regular basis to cover the project areas, to assist the Junior Associates, engage with farmers and others in the value chain and by local conveyance
  3. The person must be self-motivated and willing to work in a developing, unstructured, environment with a problem-solving attitude
  4. Strong relationship and communication skills
  5. This project demands fluency in Manipuri as lingua franca or English with fluency in any of the local Manipuri language(s) a strong plus
  6. Basic Computer skills is a must
